This project was developed in 2008 by Chrysalis Arts in collaboration with a team of established artists, writers and creative practitioners and with support from Arts Council England and the Gulbenkian Foundation. The project was designed to help identify, test and evaluate criteria that could be applied to a successful, sustainable art project. See SAT brief for more information.

The artworks consisted of a series of environmental installations commissioned from leading public artists including Laura Ellen Bacon, Andy Plant, Steve Gumbley, Jane Revitt, and Johnny White, with poetry by David Morley and an audience engagement programme led by Kate Maddison and Van Nong. It took place in Strid Wood on the Bolton Abbey Estate, North Yorkshire. This project informed the Public Art and Sustainability Guidelines which were subsequently produced by Ian Gasse, Christine Keogh and Kate Maddison.
